Buccaneer made a significant impact on the Goldleaf herd but didn’t realise his full potential in his relatively short time at Goldleaf. He had was always competitive in the show ring, winning Best of Colour through all age groups.
Buccaneer was a very even rose grey colouring, with minimal spotting. He exhibited a very well structured fleece, with uniformity of character and evenness of fibre. He had soft primary fibres, and a luxurious handle well into his more senior years. Buccaneer genetics remain unique in the industry and included top sires such as El Dorado, Sonoma, Peruvian Pluro and Highlander.
Some of Buccaneer’s most awarded offspring include;
Goldleaf Magnetic – 1st place Grey Junior Male Nationals 2012, Best Grey Perth Royal Show 2012 & 2013
Goldleaf Wicked – Best Grey Perth Royal Show 2014
Aintree Rosalee – Champion Grey Female WA Colourbration 2014
Goldleaf Chromatic – 3rd place Grey Adult Male National Show 2014 & 3rd place Grey Junior Male National Show 2013.
Buccaneer was a top quality rose grey male, that continued to show his worth. His most impressive fleece attributes have been passed on to his best offspring.
Some of Buccaneer’s successes are listed below:
Best Grey Perth Royal Show 2008, 2009, 2010 & 2011
Reserve Champion Adult Male 2009 Winter Show
Best Grey Albany Show 2009 & 2011
Best Grey Winter Show 2008 & 2009
Unfortunately Buccaneer is no longer available for use, but worthy considering his genetics to include within a coloured breeding program.
