Owned by Suncloud Alpaca Farm
Suncloud Juanchito is already proven to be a super sire of the next generation. Carolyn and Peter Richards have been very proud to have bred this male, the culmination of over three generations of support from breeding advisors Jim Watts and Murray Ventris.
Juanchito is hidden away in the heart of WA’s eastern wheatbelt partly due to their own modesty. Holding superior micron, length and density with age. Deep bold crimp. His staples remain flat. Tightly packed follicle groups.
Pictured at 7 years of age on 11 months fleece growth. The shearing subsequent he produced 1.69 kgs of skirted saddle fleece. 21 micron. Large frame, solid macho with very high fertility.
Juanchito exhibits the attributes that is associated with longevity of natural fibre production. He is highly prepotent, with a significant proportion of progeny resembling his superior fleece attributes. These fleeces are very uniform and highly sought after by fibre processors, notably sold to both Australian and Italian high end fashion designers.
Some of his cria are pictured.
This stud sire is of a calibre that he will never be parted with at Suncloud and remains an inhouse stud sire.
